I use this intercom in a remote garage about 600ft away. I have a Mighty Mule wireless electromagnetic vehicle alarm with the receiver near the intercom, with the lock on so I can hear the alarm in the house. The intercom has a slight buzz but for the money I’ve got in 2 items its a deal. When I bought the 413 intercom it sold with 3 units. I think you need more than 2.

I bought these units as an intercom system for two elderly adults who have a need to communicate while separated in their house. They had difficulty using normal “walkie-talkie” style units due to the small buttons and lack of understanding.
